Not Nothing by Gayle Forman tells two stories that intertwine. Alex has to do community service at a nursing home. There, he befriends many of the patients including, Josey, a Holocaust survivor. Josey's story of his time in a death camp is extraordinary and it encourages Alex to turn his life around. However, despite how much everyone likes him, Alex fears what they will say when the learn the truth about what he did to earn his community service.
